Our People
Spencer Taylor, is the founder and principal broker of Taylor Real Estate & Management, LLC. Spencer is involved actively in all facets of the business including conducting regular site visits, making maintenance decisions, staffing each site, reviewing each invoice and check issued, reviewing financial reports, designing better systems, and monitoring performance. He takes a personal interest in seeing that we fulfill our mission statement and core values. Spencer has a Doctor of Jurisprudence (i.e. a law degree) from Willamette University, a Masters in Business Administration from Oregon State University, and a Bachelors of Arts in social sciences (intercultural emphasis) from Bethany College. Spencer is very involved in the community, having served terms as president of the Salem Rotary Club and the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, and as one of the initial members of the No Meth Not In My Neighborhood Taskforce. He also coached boy’s basketball for 15 years from the varsity through junior high level. Spencer lives in North Salem with his wife, Denise, and they have two boys, an active home life, and are parishioners at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Teresa Chastain, our senior bookkeeper, studied accounting at Brigham Young University, formerly worked for a CPA firm specializing in auditing HUD properties, and is an organized positive individual. Teresa has worked with our company almost from the inception, September 1, 1999 to be exact. Teresa maintains financial statements, bank reconciliations, and financial reports and assures they are well prepared for audits and owner needs. She understands the unique needs of owners and stakeholders in real estate investments. Teresa lives in South Salem and has two daughters and is very involved in attending all Oregon State athletic events. One of her daughters has perhaps the world’s largest business card collection. You can send one to us and we’ll get it to her!

Tamara Valerio, our associate bookkeeper and associations specialist, has had a impressive background working for high end home builders in San Diego. Prior to that experience she was as a legal assistant for 9 years in a prominent southern California medical malpractice defense firm. She's also worked in her own business. Tammi works in our financial operations and focuses on the needs of our association home owners. Tammi lives in Keizer and has four beautiful children.
Kristina McKay, our administrative specialist, is the key face of our company. She focuses on meeting the needs of new applicants and making sure every community is well served. She's worked in schools in a support staff role and she's worked in her own business. Her friendly, efficient approach are a key asset to our team. She's also a great cook! Kristina lives in north Salem and has three active young children.
Denise Taylor, our financial analyst, studied business at the University of Portland. She formerly worked as the office manager and executive assistant for the CEO of Union Bank of California (formerly Copper Mountain Trust), Pacific Northwest Region. Denise has a strong business background, financial experience, and organizational abilities.  Denise, as you might guess, is married to Spencer. Denise is active in the community and in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

On-Site Managers, Importantly, we have a great team of on-site managers and maintenance staff. Several of our site and maintenance employees have worked with us for numerous years, including a number who have worked with us from when we first assumed management of their properties. Two of our head on-site managers have prior relevant experience in the realm of multi-family housing.
